Bilingual nature of the translator’s speech-thinking activity

Abstract: The paper is devoted to the cognitive specificity of the translation methods used by the bilingual translator in translation of Alexander Pushkin’s novel – “Eugene Onegin”. The authors analyze the speech-thinking activity of a translator with regard to cognitive sciences and describe the most productive translation methods. The practical part of the study includes the identified translation transformations classification by several parameters, as well as analysis of the most frequent translation methods.
