Abstract. The study analyzes the main directions of the assistance to the front during the First World War, provided by German colonists, which allows to show the German colonies not as closed societies separated from the rest of the world, but as part of a uniform civil society, covered by the General Patriotic feelings and willing to actively participate in helping
their homeland.
