INTERPRETER’S COMMUNICATIVE STRESS: PROFESSIONAL ADAPTATION AS A MOBILIZING FACTOR

Abstract. The article deals with the notion of communicative stress in the specific sphere of interpreting. The author analyzes various types of reasons for communicative stress an interpreter comes across. The importance of an interpreter’s professional adaptivity to mitigate communicative distress is stressed; eustress is considered as a mobilizing factor for an interpreter’s adaptive capability.
