Abstract. The experiment was carried out on 14 rats; the author tried to analyze
osteointegration properties of titanium implants with additional stimulation of their surface
osteoinductive effect with chitosan and hydroxyapatite. The result showed that titanium implants
with a preliminary application of chitosan on their bioactive surfaces have additional
osteoconductive effect. That allows considering this method of implants treatment before
placing them into bone promising in terms of more fulfilling and stable osteointegration.
Key words: bone, titanium implants, osseointegration, chitosan, hydroxyapatite.
