Translation of metaphors in news media texts

Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of translating metaphors in news media texts. As a means of achieving an adequate translation of metaphors correctly selected translating methods are considered. The author uses the classification of translating methods according to T.A. Kazakova, the classification of metaphors according to P. Newmark, and the classification of metaphorical transformations according to A. Shveitser.
