Abstract. The article is devoted to adequate translation of legal terms. As a mean of
ensuring adequate translation of legal terms compliance with the necessary level of equivalence
is considered, which involves using equivalents established in the target language, correct
selection of variant correspondences, and – in their absence – reasonable use of translating
methods.
